To find out if you are eligible to have home automation, we will complete a comprehensive assessment including:
We will then discuss the funding options available to assist that you might be eligible for and design an integrated system to meet your long-term needs.
Any home automation system will also consider use of Alternative Augmented Communication (AAC) and alternate switch access. We will work collaboratively to try different options with you and your Speech Pathologist.
If you’re having difficulty using your phone, tablet, computer or other technology equipment, we can help to improve how you use your devices. We will start with the inbuilt accessibility features in your devices, and help to maximise how you use these.
Once we’ve trialled the simple options then we can explore other electronic assistive technology solutions so that you can use your devices even if you have limited movement.
We may use a combination of modified mouses, switch access, and software solutions to improve your ability and efficiency in using technology.
If you are in a wheelchair through the day, or spend long periods in bed then you will know how hard it is to hold your devices in place so that you can use them. We can help you to mount your personal electronic devices to a wheelchair, or bed, or a floor mount so that you don’t have to hold the devices to use them.
